| New residents have to register their Ethernet card
with Penn State to activate their network connection.
Returning students who had a
connection before, will automatically be registered in the
room they are assigned to. They still must read their
email from a lab and configure their computer with the
assigned IP numbers before it will work. Instructions on
how to configure the computer with these numbers are found
in the link listed below.
Instructions for both new and returning
students are found following the "Internet
Connection Setup" on the left hand side of this
web page. If you have already completed these steps, you are
now ready to register
your card.
It can
take up to one business day from the time you successfully
register your card until your port in your room becomes active.
If you want to be connected as soon as you move into
your room, perform these steps prior to packing up
your computer and arriving to campus. If you wait till
you get here to follow these steps, you will experience
a delay in getting connected till you complete these
steps.
