Reconfigure your Email for SSL encryption

Reconfigure for SSL:
VERY IMPORTANT CHANGE:
Starting January 25, 2004, ITS will require all email programs to login using SSL encryption.
To date they have made it a "opt in" option, it will soon be mandatory in order to send or receive email. What it means to you is that you must configure your email program so it uses a SSL login. Depending on the email program you choose to use, you will have to set it up properly or you will not be able to use the PSU email servers. Webmail is an exception to this. It already uses SSL encryption. Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora and other POP3 compliant email programs will need to be set properly or it will not work.

Outlook 2000, 2003     Outlook Express   Eudora 6.2

Note: If your email program is not listed here, ITS has instructions posted at http://helpdesk.psu.edu/email/sslconfig.html for various other mail clients. If you live on campus and need assistance, you can contact the Rescom desk in your area. Rescom contact information is located here. If you live off campus, ITS can provide you with assistance in changing your email settings. ITS contact information is provided here.
